Substance Abuse Counselor
|
| A professional counselor is needed to hold group therapy sessions for members of the community suffering from substance dependency problems. Groups will meet 3 times/week for 2 1/2 hours and will usually have 8-12 participants. These sessions are a part of their after-care and reintegration into the community. Volunteers should have a minimum of 2 years experience working in group therapy environments and have excellent communication skills. |

| A volunteer physiotherapist is needed from the beginning of 2005. A minimum commitment of 4 - 6 months is required for this position. Previous professional experience is required. |

Volunteer Events Coordinator

| To plan and coordinate VolunteerTibet Get-togethers, events and tourism trips.
Professional Event planning experienced preferred but not necessary. Events will range from cultural workshops (language, arts and crafts, cooking and philosophy) to weekend trips and activism awareness seminars.

| A volunteer dentist is urgently needed in the Tibetan community. The volunteer should have previous experience working professionally as a dentist and be able to stay for at least 4 - 6 months. The candidate should also be willing to train the local Tibetan dental therapist. |

Medical Technician (specialist in ultra sound)

| A medical technician specialised in ultra sound is urgently needed. The technician should stay for at least 4 - 6 months and have previous professional experience. |

Volunteer Coordinator
|
| A Volunteer Coordinator is needed to assisti the local coordinator. Primary responsibilities include reviewing and screening volunteer applicants and matching them with the most suitable opportunity, as well as
interacting with local Tibetan organisations regarding their current needs for volunteers. The volunteer should also be willing to help out organizing and leading events to foster community among local volunteers. |

7:
Pharmacy assistant
|
| One of the local nunneries needs a female volunteer to assist them at their dispensary. The dispensary, which is open from 5-6.30 pm, provides the nuns with general medical supplies so that they do not have to go to the hospital in order to get these. The volunteer needs to have general knowledge of basic medical supplies in order to be of help to the nun who currently runs it, as she has no previous medical skills.
A volunteer is also needed at the same nunnery, to look after an older Western nun with alzheimers. |
